We are using Artificial Insemination extensively on
the Willow Springs
Blonde herd. This allows us to expand our genetic base by using
bulls from all eras of the breeds time in Canada as well as using
contemporary bulls from France and England.

| ARSHA'S POLLED UMPIRE 219U 1/29N
Homozygous Polled Fullblood (pictured January 2012)
A bull that we
own with friends Dave & Janet Kamelchuk (Little Creek Farms).
He combines good muscling with eye appeal. He has also proved to
be easy calving, and produces lighter birthweights. His calves are deep
bodied, soft made and have great eye appeal.
Umpire was named the 2010 National Champion Bull, his first and only time in the show ring. |

CRYSTAL YOUNGBLOOD 28Y 1/29N
Fullblood (pictured September 2011 @ 8 months)
Another bull that we own with friends Dave & Janet Kamelchuk (Little Creek Farms). He was the high selling animal at the 2011 National Sale where we purchased him, and went on to be named the National Reserve Champion Bull Calf for 2011. He is a true power bull, with a ton of muscle and depth of body. He is on test at the Douglas test station for the winter, and we expect great things from him. His EPD's place him in the top 3% of the breed for both weaning and yearling growth as well as the top 7% for milk production. His maternal brother, Crystal Waldo, was the 2010 National Reserve Champion Bull and the 2011 National Champion Bull. His dam is one of the best in the Crystal herd, and is entering the Crystal Farms flush program. |

IGHA Fullblood; French Import The first Blonde bull owned by Willow Springs Stock Farm. His strengths were feet & legs, temperament, muscle and a nice square hip. He is a complete outcross to almost all the other Blonde cattle that have been imported. |

WSS MIGHTY Fullblood Mighty was purchased in the spring of 1981 as a Canadian Blonde Association donation calf. He went on to become the most dominant bull of his era, with his offspring winning countless championships, and doing well in performance tests. Mighty himself was the 1981 Farmfair Grand Champion, 1981 Calgary Reserve Champion and 1982 Agribition Reserve Grand Champion. Mighty's greatest strength was his consistency; breed him to a good cow and you got a good calf; breed him to an average cow and you got a good calf. He was also very easy calving, and improved the udders and milk production of most cows. His legacy was the great daughters and granddaughters he left throughout the breed. He bred at Willow Springs until he was ten years of age. |

LAKEVIEW YOKUM 14Y Fullblood Sired
by Flambar, in Grandpa's opinion the best original French import bull,
and out of the Tonmark Lena cow. Lena was originally purchased by
Grandpa in 1976 as part of his first package of Fullblood Blondes. She
sold through the Gold Rush sale as a twelve year old for $5000, and
produced a quality calf every year (15) until she was 17 years old (see
The Cows).
She had an excellent udder even as an aged cow, and very good feet.
Grandpa purchased Yokum at the 1990 national show. He was used on
heifers and proved to be very easy calving, and is a breed leader for calving ease and milk prodcution. He was a little smaller
framed but very deep ribbed and well muscled. Yokum was the 1990 Farmfair Reserve Champion.
